After writing the Quebec Bar Exam, Matthew Meland felt he had studied well, but for the wrong exam. To help others avoid finding themselves in the same situation and to democratize access to how the Bar Exam is structured, he created Sharpened to provide others with what he would have loved to have known while writing the Quebec and Ontario Bar Exams, and threw in some musings about some stationery items he’s come to depend on along the way.

Since its inception in 2018, Sharpened has become the number #1 Quebec Bar Exam help blog and the leading Quebec and Ontario Bar Exam tutoring and crash course service. We have built a great team of passionate tutors with the goal of coaching students preparing them to pass the Bar.

Matthew Meland is the passionate founder and blogger behind Sharpened. On the day-to-day, he is a practising civil and commercial litigator and corporate lawyer at Fishman Flanz Meland Paquin LLP. In his free time, he enjoys martial arts and horseback riding.
